Symptoms of Shingles
- Shingles is a viral infection caused by the same virus as the chickenpox virus. Shingles Disease will often manifest itself along a nerve path of one or more nerves with a burning sensation in the area of skin corresponding to the affected nerve path. Symptoms of shingles often begin with simple redness of the skin followed by facial pain located in the area of skin of the affected nerve or nerves. Shingles symptoms can include swelling of the glands, tingling or itching of the skin and shingles patients may have restricted ability to move their facial muscles. Shingles can also be accompanied by a low grade or mild fever in some cases.
